Went here tonight... service was on point! Cute atmosphere being on the square. I ordered the rib eye... great cut of meat, came with 4 pieces of asparagus (so-so) and a baked potato... steak was amazing, only flop was the baked potato was burnt at the bottom. .. but their dessert options made up for the potato... dessert was a turtle cheesecake. .. and WOW it was great! Will be back!

This is a long overdue review, as I truly have forgotten to post it. It was NYE and there was no one else that had room last second...except for this place. So, we show up feeling very happy that a place had room. Unfortunately for us, it was really busy and we standed around forever. It is a very narrow/small dining area. Fortunately, the food was good enough to allow me to give 3 stars. Had the service and communication been better, this is a 4 star place for sure. The steaks were correctly prepared and the appetizers we're very tasty.

Service was great, but food was BAD. The Rib-eye was so chewy I couldn't handle it and had to spit it out. Wife got the filet mignon and asked for medium and got rare... We were there at 4:30 on a wed and it wasn't busy no reason for such bad food. I've never had a rib-eye so chew and tasteless...

This place is horrible. We went to celebrate our anniversary and our bill came to $120. My husband said it was the worse steak he ever had and my salmon had some thick gross white sauce on it. We complained to the manager and he said "yeah what do you want me to do about it? " He wouldn't do anything about it. We left hungry. Never again.

In town for a conference and about 20 of us descended on Prime for dinner. It was amazing. Staff was accommodating and efficient. The filet and crab cakes were to die for. Would go there again in a second. Great atmosphere.

Enjoyed another dining experience at prime last night ! My husband and I are always greeted like family by the owners and there staff . We both stick to our favorites the fish specials and the prime steaks. It's a great Friday date nite for us! The dining room is lovely and romantic. We both recommend Prime to all our couple friends. The steaks are so delicious and to much to finish. Take the time to visit when your in crown point it's a real treat.

What an attractive restaurant, it just felt good to be there. Started with the brucshetta which had a delicious balsamic glaze that we all liked. I had one of the evening specials, a petite filet with lake perch, mashed garlic potatoes and asparagus. Steak was on point, so well seasoned and cooked exactly medium. I'm a lake perch fan and this was delicately yummy. So much food, definite take away container. My friends had steaks, everyone was really satisfied. I wish it was closer to home but when I am out in the area I will certainly return.

Hmmm... I've had time to mull this over a bit. Big time mixed feelings on this review. Prime Steakhouse has been on our radar for a while, it's right on the square between a couple antique shops we've checked out. We finally decided to go on Easter Sunday, after a long drive back from Wisconsin to visit my fiancés family. We did some hiking and sight seeing on the drive too, so we obviously worked up kind of an appetite. The first thing I noticed was the atmosphere of the place, very classy casual. You can be comfy in a suit an tie or just jeans and a sweater. There is a back seating area and some on the second floor 'loft' I guess you can call it. Didn't go check those out but, they look cozy and private. Probably something you'd have to reserve ahead of time. On to the food, and here is where it gets tricky for me... I ordered the Roast Leg of Lamb which came with Brown Potatoes and Asparagus. My fiancé ordered the NY Strip with Mashed Potatoes and Asparagus. Both came with soup or salad (we opted for salads) and bread to start off with. I enjoyed the lamb, it was tender and flavorful. The gravy on it was meh meh, ok but, for me it was a bit heavy. So, perhaps order it on the side? Probably no biggie since Lamb was an Easter Special only I believe. The sides were OK. My potato wedges were good, but we both agreed that we were not fans of the mashed potatoes she had as a side nor the asparagus. Too much seasoning, totally killed the asparagus for us. The NY Strip. This was what we crave as good omnivorous hominids. I got to try a bite of Lori's steak, I liked the slight char, good flavor and a nice strip of fat insulating the side. The thing was giant too, we probably could've shared it between us and STILL have had a bit to take home. Here's where the mixed feelings come in... Right at about 3 AM, she tells me not to eat the left over steak because she got pretty sick. Most of the next day wasn't a picnic for her either :/ Makes me kinda glad she cut me an end piece that was close to well done unlike toward the center of it. Now because this my review n all that, I'll rate it predominately on my food and experience but, ummm I figure I could at least mention it and make you aware of that little tid bit. In my honest opinion, I'd give em a second go. Ambiance is great, service was great and there was just a very chill and comfy vibe to the place. Who knows, maybe we just got unlucky that night or someone's timing was off in the kitchen and it was under cooked.

I frequented this restaurant when it was Amore and was excited to try it now that it's Prime. Wow, big mistake! The only good part of the meal was the bread. The Ceasar salad had no taste and the dressing itself tasted like straight mayonnaise. The egg on the side had obviously been sitting out. The Bruschetta wasn't much better as the bread was soggy. The drinks were terrible. I ordered a margarita on the rocks and it tasted like all tequila. I was dining with a group of friends and their meals weren't good either. Two friends ordered the spaghetti and said it tasted like Ragu and one friend had a steak and said it was fatty. Would strongly recommend spending your money elsewhere. If only Amore would come back!

I wanted to like this place...I really really did My fiancé n I have been eyeing it for a while and finally decided to check it out on Easter. Walking in I absolutely love the atmosphere everyone is friendly it looks clean and the seating is nicely arranged. I ordered the ny strip (medium) with mashed potatoes and asparagus as my sides. I was crazy excited to try it! Food came looked good and then I started eating... Mashed potatoes kinda tasted like a powder mix mixed with real potatoes, asparagus didn't have taste and the flavorless steak was more rare than medium but still edible I suppose. It was a bit of a let down...oh! Anddd did I mention I got sick?! Yupp woke up at 3 AM and yea still pretty flavorless coming up! :P So I think it's pretty safe to say we won't be going back!

My family enjoyed the food. The atmosphere was nice, not too load. The service was great. The only bad thing was the tables were too close to each other. I couldn't sit down until the person behind me moved his chair in. But other than that the steak was delish. The kids love their cheeseburgers. My wife loved her pasta. Great restaurant in the Crown Point downtown area.

So we had a reservation at prime for NYE . We waited over two hours to be seated and actually celebrated the new year as we were being served dinner. This was not at all what we had in mind. As far as the food was concerned, they were out of filet mignon and mashed potatoes by the time we sat down....ummm you're a steak house for goodness sakes! So clearly the staff was stressed and I absolutely do not blame them. The only reason I'm even giving Prime two stars, was because of them. I absolutely blame the manager and whomever the owners are. If you can't accommodate, they should never have allowed for us to book a reservation. I can honestly say our NYE was ruined...thanks.

A brief synopsis of our recent visit: 1) Even with a 9:00 reservation we didn't get seated until 10:30. It probably would have been later but our constant inquiries got us seated at a makeshift table located on a stage, usually used for the entertainment. 2) The food was cold. After waiting so long only one of us sent the plate back to be heated, the rest just picked at a couple bites and left hungry. Even if the food was hot we would have still left hungry because the portion sizes were so small. The meals were at minimum $30.00 a plate, and all we got were 3 stalks of asparagus and 3 small potato wedges. 3) We all ordered baked potatoes or mashed potatoes but we were served a wedge potato after being told they were out of the others. Twenty minutes later we saw another large party being served all with baked potatoes. It was a nice atmosphere, but way too unorganized in the way everything was run. We will not go back.

We had the MOST delicious food and drinks here! Even the bread was spectacular! It's a beautiful place with a great story about the history of the restaurant. This restaurant is especially lovely at Christmas......We highly recommend it for a fabulous night out and a delicious meal!

I had the pleasure of dining at Prime with some of my closest friends and the restaurant's family-owned atmosphere made our dining experience that much more wonderful. The food was exemplary and the half-priced bottle of wine I shared with my friend was delicious. The crab cakes are a MUST. I brought one home with me and had it for breakfast with an egg-AMAZING. But by far, the most enjoyable part was the host Vasily. He made all of us feel like we were part of his family. I would go back in a heartbeat

Had New York strip and lake perch The salad was watery and salad dressings thin on flavor. The entries steak slightly over done when ordered rare the fish breading heavy for stated "lightly breaded and pan fried" on the menu. First time since under new name... No comparison to Amore in quality only in price. Would not recommend .
